The one Alder Lake 3060 cheap gaming laptop I see under 1Lakh is the HP Victus 12700H, which surprisingly is a pretty decent performer for the price. Shockingly it also comes with 16GB DDR5 and a 300-nits screen with 100% sRGB color gamut and 144Hz refresh rate. Certainly not class-leading, but pretty darn good for this price.
HP was knocked pretty hard last year for the Victus’ wobbly screen, and they didn’t fix that issue in 2022, unfortunately. So take that for what it’s worth. It honestly could be a deal-breaker for a lot of people.
Aside from the roomy full-size keyboard and eye-friendly 16.1″ screen, this is what I love about the Victus:
All the ports are on the left side of the keyboard, and the two USB-A ports on the right-hand side are toward the hinge where they do not interfere with a (right handed) mouse user. Plus the obvious dinosaur-sized SD card reader for creators who still need such things.
As an honorable mention in second spot, I’d give a shout out to the Zephyrus G15 with its Pantone validated 15.6″ QHD screen and 5900HS Ryzen processor, which will improve your battery life significantly compared to an Alder Lake device.
My one gripe with the G15 is the fact that they used the heavily gimped 80W 3060, which combined with the QHD screen is going to seriously tank any hoped-for gaming performance. That fact demotes this to a content creator system. But then ASUS declined to put any version of SD card reader on the device. So, unfortunately the G15 is just a very nice gaming laptop that excels at nothing. IMO.
