Rakhi Sawant fainted during her interaction with reporters on Tuesday after her husband Adil Khan Durrani was arrested on multiple charges levied by her.
Following the Tuesday arrest of her husband Adil Khan Durrani, Rakhi Sawant collapsed while speaking to reporters. She has charged him with violence, theft of cash and jewellery from her apartment without her knowledge, engaging in unnatural intercourse, and dowry harassment, among other things. Rakhi was talking to media about Adil outside the Oshiwara police station. She was discussing how Adil had called her repeatedly throughout the day to discuss the police report when she suddenly passed out from weariness .She was taken to her car and made to sit on the front seat to catch a breath.
After a protracted fight with cancer, her mother passed away last month. Additionally, she recently claimed that Adil “killed” her mother by failing to pay a hospital bill on time while she was preoccupied with Bigg Boss Marathi.
Adil was taken to the Oshiwara police station in suburban Mumbai earlier on Tuesday for questioning before being arrested, according to a police official. He is also charged with pestering Rakhi to pay dowry. The police official claimed that late on Monday night, Rakhi filed a FIR (first information report) against Adil under IPC sections 406 (breach of trust) and 323 (voluntarily causing harm). He claimed that on Tuesday, the police added sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that dealt with dowry harassment and unnatural sexual relations to the FIR.
Rakhi and Adil opened a joint company account in January 2022, according to the official, who cited Rakhi’s police statement. Rakhi informed the police that he took more than 1.5 crore from the account in June without her knowledge to buy a car, but she didn’t object because he promised to marry her. Later, he claimed, Adil allegedly assaulted Rakhi twice, leading her to report him for a non-cognizable offence. Police cannot make an arrest without a warrant or launch an inquiry into a non-cognizable offence without a judge’s approval.As per Rakhi, Adil threatened her more than once, saying he would throw acid on her face or get her killed in a road accident, said the official. Rakhi has also accused Adil of forcing her to offer ‘namaz’, he said.
On Sunday night, Rakhi discovered that ₹5 lakh cash and her mother’s jewellery worth ₹2.5 lakh were missing from her cupboard. She then learnt from the watchman of her building that Adil had visited the flat in her absence, said the official.
