After a protracted struggle with a brain tumour and cancer, Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya Sawant passed away on Saturday. The mother of the actor and reality TV star had reportedly been in critical condition while being treated in a Mumbai hospital for several days. According to Rakhi’s Instagram post, the funeral will be held on Sunday.
After receiving treatment for a brain tumour and cancer, Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya Sawant passed away on Saturday. Rakhi shared the sad news on Instagram. Jaya passed away while receiving medical care in a hospital in Mumbai. Rakhi had been giving updates on her mother’s condition and posting images and videos of her from the hospital in recent days. In several paparazzi videos, the reality TV star and actor had also pleaded with followers to pray for her mother’s quick recovery. According to a statement Rakhi posted on Instagram, the funeral will be held on Sunday. Many famous people sent their condolences to Rakhi and her family, including Rashami Desai, Jackie Shroff, Maanayata Dutt, and Aly Goni. Following Jaya’s passing, videos of Rakhi Sawant and her family outside the hospital were posted on fan pages and by paparazzi. Rakhi was seen sobbing uncontrollably in one of the recordings as her family members sought to comfort her. She kept saying, “My mother has abandoned me,” in Hindi. In one of the Instagram videos, Rakhi was heard wondering, “Where is Adil?” (her husband Adil Khan Durrani). In a video, she also sobbed while calling Salman Khan “bhai” (brother). As her mother’s body was being removed, Rakhi sobbed while standing next to an ambulance.
Rakhi posted a video of herself and her mother sitting on the floor of a hospital room early on Sunday. In her caption, she penned, “Or simply pass khone ke liye kuch nahi bacha, aaj meri maa ka haat sar se uth gaya. MAA, I adore you. Ab kaun meri pukar sunega or kaun mujhe gale lagayega maa, aap ke bina kuch nahi raha. Ami kya karu… kaha jaaaaaa… (Today, my mother’s hand was pulled from my head.) I miss you, Aai. And I no longer have anything to lose. I adore you, mom. Without you, nothing is left; who will hear me out and give me a hug? What should I do next? Tell me where to go. Mother, you are missed.”
Many famous people expressed their disbelief and sent Rakhi and her family their sympathies. Stay strong Rakhi, offering prayers and love, the actor Ridhima Pandit wrote on the video of Rakhi. May she rest in peace with her soul. “My darling Rakhi, my heart reaches out to you!” said actor Nisha Rawal. Aunty has always been well-groomed and smiling, so seeing her in this situation broke my heart. Will be asking for prayers for her safe journey! May God provide you courage. Maanayata Dutt, the wife of actor Sanjay Dutt, penned the following: “May God provide you the courage and strength to face this enormous loss of family. Shanti om ! May her soul rest in peace .”
Actress Anita Hassanandani left a comment on Rakhi’s film that was posted on a paparazzo profile on Instagram, saying, “Rip (rest in peace).” “RIP, om shanti,” the actor Rashami Desai said in a comment on the same thread. It was “very heartbreaking, may her spirit rest in peace,” the actor Roshni Walia remarked. In the comments section, actors Sonal Chauhan, Prince Narula, and Aly Goni used sad heart emojis.
Rakhi shared an image of a photo she had with her deceased mother on Instagram Stories as well as a statement she had sent to her deceased mother on Whatsapp “I, Rakhi Sawant, am very sorry to inform you of the untimely passing of my mother. Many of you are aware that she had a number of medical issues, therefore I regret to inform you that she has passed away. Come to my mother’s funeral tomorrow at noon with us. Municipal Christian Cemetery, West Andheri in Oshiwara.”
In a recent Instagram video, Rakhi Sawant gave fans an update on her mother’s health and revealed that her mother has both a brain tumour and cancer. Rakhi pleaded with viewers to pray for her mother in the video. “Mom is in the hospital,” Rakhi captioned the video when she shared it. Please offer prayers for her health.” In the video, which also included her husband Adil and her brother Rakesh, Rakhi remarked, “Hi everyone, Last night, I left Bigg Boss Marathi Season 4 since my mother is ill and in the hospital. Please say a prayer for her; she’s not in the best of health.”
