Michael Keaton’s Batman hasn’t aged a day!
None of the new movie trailers that debuted before the Super Bowl won over audiences more than the one for DC’s The Flash, which will finally hit theatres this June. We got a taste of the story that was inspired by Flashpoint thanks to the emotionally stirring spectacle. But more crucially, it provided a clearer look at Ezra Miller’s second run as the Flash, Sasha Calle’s Supergirl’s premiere, and Michael Keaton’s long-awaited return as Batman. Three new character posters featuring the three DC heroes from the universe have now been released by Warner Brothers.
Worlds Collide in New The Flash Posters
With Keaton’s trademark smirk and the iconic yellow insignia, Batman looks as cool as ever in the three posters. Calle’s Girl of Steel is also depicted, this time with her back to the camera and wearing her chic new super suit. In many ways, this is the most impressive sight we have ever seen of these famous heroes’ modernised attire. In contrast to Zack Snyder’s blue lightning from Justice League, the logo for Flash is more prominently white and yellow and features yellow lightning strikes.
Then there’s Keaton, who looks like he just stepped out of Batman Returns, his previous superhero film. Despite the fact that his final Batman movie didn’t come out until 1992, the actor hasn’t aged a day and still looks terrifyingly terrific in the costume. The sleek red stripes that go down the arms of Calle’s suit are undoubtedly its most distinctive feature. That makes the traditional red and blue colour combination hit harder than it would otherwise. Throughout the design, there are unmistakable echoes of Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Flashpoint Inspired Plot
The new teaser and official storyline synopsis, both released on Super Bowl Sunday, revealed the strong Flashpoint elements. DC Fans have had hints about what The Flash’s huge universe plotline will involve. Barry will have to cope with the fallout from trying to stop his mother from dying in the past, which utterly messes up the timeline, in the movie.
In terms of the DC movies, this implies that Meta Humans don’t exist, Michael Shannon’s General Zod was never vanquished in Man of Steel, and Superman has been replaced by a depowered and captive Supergirl. In the Flashpoint comic, Superman dealt with the latter issue. Here, the Keaton-era Batman steps in to assist several iterations of The Flash in resolving the situation. This film will also feature the return of Ben Affleck’s version of The Dark Knight who warns Barry not to save his mother in the trailer, but of course, the young hero didn’t listen.
The Flash Release Date
The Flash crosses the finish line in theaters on June 16, 2023. The film has had a very long and bumpy path to getting made, but seeing Keaton and Affleck’s Batman along with Calle’s Supergirl has made the wait more than worth it. While fans anxiously wait for June to get here, you can view the new character posters down below.
