For the first anniversary of Lata Mangeshkar’s passing, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik of Odisha has produced a piece of art. He created a 6-foot tall sand sculpture at Puri Beach in Odisha that read, “Tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Ji, Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai.”
At the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6 of last year at the age of 92.
Mangeshkar, who is affectionately referred to as Lata di, is well known for her melodic voice, versatility, and ability in a wide range of musical styles and languages. She has songs in Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, and other regional Indian languages in addition to Hindi.
The Queen of Melody’s deep voice, like that of a nightingale, moved the entire nation. For more than seven decades, her voice has been a defining feature of Indian cinema. In the history of Indian film music, she has delivered some of the most well-known and enduring melodies.

She has received a significant lot of acclaim for her contributions to Indian music during the course of her career. For her outstanding efforts, she received the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1974, the Padma Vibhushan in 1989, and the Bharat Ratna in 2001.
