NEW DELHI: On Tuesday afternoon, Delhi and the NCR area saw severe earthquake tremors that sent many into a state of terror. Initial reports state that the earthquakes began at 2:30 pm. After an earthquake with a Richter scale value of 5.8 struck Nepal at roughly 2.28 PM, tremors were felt.
Many people were forced to flee their homes and places of employment in a panic as the tremors persisted for approximately 10-15 seconds. After the tremors were noticed in the national capital region, several individuals recorded footage of shaking home items such ceiling fans.
NEW DELHI: On Tuesday afternoon, Delhi and the surrounding region of the NCR saw strong earthquake shocks that terrified many people. According to early reports, the earthquakes started about 2:30 pm. Tremors were felt after an earthquake of a magnitude of 5.8 struck Nepal at approximately 2.28 PM.
The vibrations continued for around 10 to 15 seconds, causing many individuals to fear and evacuate their homes and places of work. After the tremors were felt in the national capital area, many people shot video of shaking household objects like ceiling fans.
An earthquake of moderate severity struck Afghanistan’s Fayzabad earlier on January 5, and powerful aftershocks were detected in regions of Pakistan and India, including Delhi and the NCR. Even though the earthquake tremors were only detected for a very brief period of time, panic gripped the populace as they were felt in the national capital and its surrounding and adjoining locations.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the primary organisation of the Government of India for monitoring earthquake activity in the nation, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 occurred in Haryana’s Jhajjar on January 1 and significant tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR.
