Dream Girl 2, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, will release in theatres on July 7. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, among others.
Tuesday, Ayushmann Khurrana used social media to share a humorous trailer from his upcoming comedy flick Dream Girl 2 in which his character Pooja is seen flirting with none other than Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
In the teaser, Pathaan calls Pooja to wish her a Happy Valentine’s Day while she is dressed in a backless choli and ghagra. Then, Pathaan and Pooja talk about Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie, Jawan. Pathaan asks Pooja when her movie is coming out and replies, “Meri Jawan aa aa rahi hai (my film Jawan is releasing soon)”. She states that Dream Girl 2 will be released on July 7.
Shah Rukh Khan has been honoured before by Ayushmann, thus this is not the first time. The actor recently announced that he is a proud “SRKian” in a tweet. Ayushmann visited SRK’s Mumbai house Mannat as part of the promotion for his most recent film, An Action Hero. Ayushmann will play two roles in Dream Girl 2. The movie is a follow-up to his hugely successful 2019 movie, in which he portrayed a young man who answers a hotline for lonely men with a feminine voice.
In her post, his co-star Ananya Panday said, “I thought sign karne par film mein ek heroine thi, yeh @pooja dreamGirl ko sab kyun call kar rahe hain guys?” in reference to the teaser.
Ayushmann has been having trouble at the box office as a result of the commercial failure of his most recent movies, including Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Anek, Doctor G, and An Action Hero. In a previous interview with indianexpress.com, Ayushmann had responded, “I think I’m unshakeable,” when asked if this depressing phase had in any way weakened his self-assurance. I shall become traditional if I stop taking chances. I’ve always made odd decisions because of who I am. I’ll continue to take them whether I succeed or fail in the future. I just keep pushing the boundaries, and that’s the beauty of the budgeting of the films, too. My films are mostly low-to-mid-budget, so no one loses money and I can afford to take risks.”
